In this registry key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Start Menu It sets "HideDVD" to 1. i suspect that it makes a reg key change but due to the fact that i am using 64bit, it doesn't reverse it properly. Any help would be appreciated in finding out what changes that setting makes. however, i know that the codecs and what not are installed and still working because I can right click on the mounted image and choose play with windows media center and it plays. When i reveresed the changes, DVD's still wont play. I played around a bit with the externalplayers.xml file and then tried to just reverse the changes by going back into WNC and remove the check mark for the "Do Not use Windows media Center Autoplay". I would get a spinning circle and see that the iso was mounted successfully, but wouldn't play. When I did this, and then went back into WMC, I found that WMC would not play either DVD's or Blurays. The purpose behind this was to configure the MyMovies client that runs in the background to launch the desired application via the My Movies -> Settings-> Media Player - and then select VLC player for the Bluray media. I was reading up on the method of having the ability to play DVD's in WMC and have BluRays launch with VLC by turning off the WMC Autoplay functionality by going into the WMC My Movies Movie strip application and then click on settings, Movies and choose the option to disable the WMC auto-play functionality (note: This is different than the windows explorer auto play). I then installed the MyMovies 5.3 client on my macine and started tweaking things to get them the way that i wanted. I then downloaded and installed WMC 8.8.5 (you can find the link on green button website). Background: Recently, I updated my media machine to windows 10 64bit. Hello all: I have a question regarding what regisry key or changes are made by My Movies when you go into Windows Media Center and disable the WMC autoplay functions.
